Michael Bednarsky is an accomplished Music Education student at The Ohio State University. Michael is the Music Director of The Buckeye Philharmonic Orchestra and plays clarinet in The Ohio State University Wind Symphony.
Michael has performed in masterclasses for world-renowned clarinetists Richard Stoltzman and Ricardo Morales. He has served as a chaperone for the High School and Middle School honor bands at The Ohio State University, and has also served as a camp counselor at the School of Music’s Clarinet Academy, where he was responsible for logistical operations and small-group/individual performance instruction. He has worked as a woodwind instructor for marching bands at Bishop Watterson, Clark-Shawnee, Anna, Brecksville-Broadview Heights, and Warren Local high schools.
At Ohio State, Michael has been the recipient of the Morrill Excellence Scholarship, the Richard Stoltzman Scholarship, the Kinnan Music Education Scholarship, and the Excellence in Ensembles and Conducting Award.
Michael has played clarinet in The Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra, Cleveland Youth Wind Symphony, Off The Lake Productions’ pit orchestra (Hairspray), Ohio Music Educators Association All-State Band, the Macy’s Great American Marching Band, the Ohio State University Honor Band, and the Brecksville Little Theatre pit orchestra (The Music Man). He has also participated in the OMEA Solo & Ensemble events and The Cleveland Orchestra’s Gordon Square residency performances.
Michael is a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia and the Ohio Music Education Association.
